- Does Proofel send my campaigns?
- No. Proofel is the review and approval step, not an email service provider. You keep sending from Klaviyo, Mailchimp, Braze, HubSpot, or wherever you send today.
- Do reviewers need a Proofel account?
- No. Reviewers on an approval link open it, enter a display name, and can comment, annotate, resolve, and approve. Accounts are only needed to create and manage emails.
- How do emails get into Proofel?
- Each email gets its own permanent address. Forward a campaign or send a test from your ESP to that address and it appears as a new version automatically. You can also upload an .eml file.
- Is there a free plan?
- Yes. Every account starts with a 14-day all-access trial (no credit card), then keeps a Free plan with 3 active emails and 3 campaigns plus unlimited guest reviewers and versions unless you upgrade. Paid plans start at $19 per month.
- Can I export my email out of Proofel?
- Yes, as an .eml file. Use Download EML from a canvas menu to get a standard email file you can open or hand off.
- How many people can be on a team?
- The Team plan includes 3 seats and you can add as many more as you need at $10 per seat per month. Everyone shares campaigns, tags, labels, and comment history.
- Can I preview an email without a Proofel account?
- Yes. The free preview tool at /tools/email-preview renders pasted HTML or a dropped .eml file at desktop and mobile widths, in simulated dark mode, and through per-client lenses, with no signup and nothing uploaded off your machine.
- Why does my email look different in Outlook?
- Outlook for Windows renders email with the Word engine, which has no support for rounded corners, shadows, or flexbox, so layered layouts fall back to plain boxes. Previewing with an Outlook lens before sending shows exactly what it strips.
- Why do my email colors change in dark mode?
- Gmail and Outlook force-invert light colors in dark mode, while Apple Mail honors the dark styles you author, and no client inverts images, so a bright logo can be left sitting on a newly dark background. Simulating each client before sending catches those surprises early.
- Is the dark-mode simulator a paid feature?
- No. The dark-mode simulator, the 20-client lens, and the view options (blocked images, Gmail clip line, inbox rows, state grid, colour-vision lenses) are free on every plan, including Free, because the same engines run with no account at all on our free tools. Pro is where the scored pre-send report lives.
- What is the pre-send report?
- A scored run of checks over the email you are reviewing: a 100-point score with findings worst-first, a caniemail-backed client support matrix across 20 clients, Outlook Word-engine lint pointed at the line, an accessibility audit that measures contrast inside a dark inversion, deterministic one-click fixes, an image audit, an optional SpamAssassin score, and a test send to your own inbox. The score is a triage order, not a delivery guarantee. Available on Pro and above.
