Email tools

Device preview, the dark-mode simulator, Link Visualizer, Email Cleanup, and export.

Desktop and mobile preview

Toggle between desktop and mobile right in the viewer to see the real email at each width, exactly as a subscriber on that device would.

In mobile mode, a device selector above the email lets you preview a range of common phone widths by name, so you can check the layout holds up on the handsets your audience actually uses.

Dark-mode simulator

Pro

Mail clients treat dark mode differently, and Proofel models each one. Use the light/dark toggle above the email, then pick a client. Apple Mail honors your authored dark-mode CSS with a gentle partial inversion; Gmail and Outlook force a full color inversion. The simulation uses CIELAB color-space math so the preview matches what those clients actually do to your colors. Images are never inverted.

A simulator is an approximation. For anything critical, always test on a real device too. The dark-mode simulator is available on Pro and above.

Email Cleanup and image compression

Pro

Gmail clips any message whose HTML is larger than roughly 102KB, hiding the rest behind a "Message clipped" link, which can bury your unsubscribe link. Email Cleanup runs a minify-and-compress pass: it strips editor cruft, comments, and whitespace (while preserving Outlook conditional comments), and can re-compress and re-host inline images that would otherwise inflate the file.

You review the cleaned version in Proofel before you export it, so nothing ships unseen. Email Cleanup is available on Pro and above.

Getting your email out (Download EML)

To take an email out of Proofel, use Download EML from the menu on a canvas in your dashboard. Proofel rebuilds a standard .eml file (subject, sender, and the reviewed HTML) that you can open in a mail client or hand off to whoever sends the campaign.

Proofel does not currently offer CSV or PDF export. The .eml download is the supported way to get the finished email out.
