Cookie Policy

Last updated: July 5, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Proofel (ABN 41 243 417 418) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and in our product. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device, and “similar technologies” include browser localStorage, pixels, and tags that work the same way. They let a site remember your actions and preferences, keep you signed in, and measure how the site is used. Cookies set by Proofel are “first-party”; cookies set by our analytics and advertising providers are “third-party”.

Cookies we use

We group the cookies and storage we use into three categories. Exact names and lifetimes set by third parties can change; the table below reflects the main ones.

Name / providerPurposeDurationType
Supabase auth session (Proofel)Keeps you signed in and secures authenticated requests.Session / up to 1 yearStrictly necessary
Preferences & cache (Proofel, localStorage)Remembers your theme and settings and caches data so pages load fast.Persistent (until cleared)Strictly necessary
_ga, _ga_* (Google Analytics)Measures usage so we can understand and improve the Service.Up to 2 yearsAnalytics
_clck, _clsk (Microsoft Clarity)Anonymised session replay and heatmaps to find usability issues.Session / up to 1 yearAnalytics
Google Ads (_gcl_* / conversion linker)Measures ad conversions and supports remarketing.Up to 90 daysAdvertising
Meta Pixel (_fbp)Measures ad conversions and supports remarketing on Facebook/Instagram.Up to 90 daysAdvertising

Strictly necessary cookies are required for the Service to work and are always active. We currently load analytics and advertising technologies with consent signals defaulting to granted, and we do not yet show a cookie banner. This is a product decision that may change; if we introduce a consent banner, non-essential cookies will default to denied until you accept. Regardless, you can control or block non-essential cookies at any time using the options below.

How to manage & opt out

  • Browser controls. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and clear local storage in their settings; blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the Service.
  • Google Analytics. Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
  • Google Ads. Manage ad personalisation in your Google Ads Settings.
  • Meta. Manage ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings; see Meta’s Privacy Policy.
  • Microsoft Clarity. Clarity automatically masks form input, email addresses, and numbers; see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Do Not Track & Global Privacy Control

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) setting or a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. There is no common industry standard for DNT, but we honour recognised opt-out preference signals such as GPC where required by law, and we do not sell your personal information.
